If you had to defend your home and loved ones, what Caliber?

what caliber = whichever is closest to me... any one of them will inflict damage. Some I just need to place better shots than others.

Home invasion is my worst fear since I dont carry when i am in my safe zone.
Small children in the house means all firearms are locked up.
My weapon would most likely be my pocket knife since it is always in my pocket.
If i had time to retrieve a firearm, i have a 12 ga with staggered rounds set up for the task.

I always carry; even at home AND I use a Level-2
N82 IWB holster or a Uncle Mike's L-2 OWB Reflex
holster: these don't drop the gun if I trip or am
attacked or a grandkid tries to grab the gun.

I also have a full sized duty gun in my instant
access safe and a Mini-14 and 30 round mag
in the big safe.. I also always carry a spare mag.

I did this years ago raising my 5 kids; I taught them
gun safety and keep hands off unless I am teaching
them about it... the youngest is 29 now.

REMEMBER:
THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A SAFE-ZONE.
ONLY PLACES WE ASSUME AND HOPE ARE SAFE... DEATH CAN STRIKE ANYWHERE!
Some examples are those DRONE strikes;
NYC, Wash. D.C., Chicago; and every school's
so-called: "GUN FREE ZONE"!!!

It's your choice; there are many who never have to
face a home invasion and I hope you and everyone
else doesn't have one.

I recommend a 5-shot 38 snub alone in your pocket
and move that knife to the other pocket.
