if you dont have a concealed weapons permit how exactly are u alowed to carry your pistol???
You allowed to open carry- meaning that it has to be seen and not concealed, but be careful some cities will not allow open carry.
can it be loaded?? and i live in tacoma/puyallup is it leagle here??
Yes it is legal here in Washington, but, it seems that many uniformed (or maybe uninformed...) police officers are not aware of this.
can it be loaded??
Of course. As long as you are legally able to own a handgun, you can carry your loaded weapon unconcealed. To carry concealed, you need a Concealed Pistol License.
ok thanx alot for the info
i planed on it thanx enyways bud!!!!!
Heads up--I don't think you can carry in a vehicle without a permit though. RCW 9.41.050: Carrying firearms. That's where I've heard most citations on open carry. That or someone deems the person "threatening." And of course you have to stay out of all the same buildings as with concealed carry... post offices, court houses etc.
May I ask why you would carry an unloaded weapon?
For the same reason one would carry a black-jack or billy-club.
well i just know your not allowed to carry a loaded riffle in your car and im kinda new to the hole hand gun thing so thats y i asked
Just be in the mindset that someone will eventually call the police on you, and you'll spend a few minutes being checked out for it, right or wrong.
Keep your behavior above board, people only have the cover of the book to judge it by in those 3 seconds that they see "someone with a gun" , and all coherent thought ends while they dive to call 911.
Patience, and keep a business card copy/URL of the applicable law in your wallet to hand to the responding Officer and the hyperventilator who called them.
Also, you can NOT carry a LOADED handgun in a vehicle without a CPL.
well i read this opencarry page on the internet and it says that u can please read it and correct me if im rong...
OpenCarry.org - A Right Unexercised is a Right Lost! ...
I believe you can, but some cities Dont allow loaded weapons, so if you have a handgun in your car you MUST have it unloaded while driving through those towns...other wise loaded handgun in a car is fine. I THINK! im not sure, so dont take my word for it.. Someone Back me up on that?
Psst..... Just grit your teeth and file for the permit already!
Oregon OR Washington. You must have a permit to carry a loaded handgun in a vehicle.
I have permits in both states for just that reason
Sounds like those cities my be in vioilation of state pre-emption...
