Interesting how some hospitals appear to be overwhelmed and many other hospitals are unaffected. In the news only the worst case scenario makes the headline. The jab is most likely safe and affective however I don't like the the Gov demanding I take a medication that was rushed through trials. Just my 2 cents. which isn't worth much.View attachment 1030062

So it's closer to 90-95% avg.; the numbers are direct from the source.
When I mentioned overtime.. My wife(RN) has been asked to work 16-18 hrs double-shifts to handle the overflow.
The bubblegum is real. Consider yourself informed now.
Straight from the source...

"It's here. 67 in patients with COVID. Elective surgeries cancelled. The recovery room for surgeries converted to a non-covid medical ICU to make room for the COVID patients in ICU. Disinformation is deadly. 94% of these patients are unvaccinated and another 4.3% are only partially vaccinated. Statistics don't lie. They are non discriminating, have no political affiliation, and no hidden agenda. Vaccines work and have far less side effects than COVID. Think sore arm, body aches for a day, and headache. The best way to stay out of the hospital is to get vaccinated, if you have no medical reason to avoid the vaccine (immune compromised is one of the few reasons.) Please I implore you. I don't want to lose anyone to this that could have been prevented. I also don't want to see you have life long complications after infection if you survive. I'm exhausted from this and don't know how much more energy I can put into talking about this. I don't get to escape this, this is my reality, this is my work. I get to wear a mask and goggles 10 hrs a day while at work 3-4 days a week. So please get vaccinated if you haven't already."

"TO ALL MY UNVACCINATED FRIENDS AND FAMILY PLEASE READ NOT ARGUMENTATIVE I PROMISE. Just woke up after a 12hr night shift to see this. When I got to work yesterday we were at 91 and now 102. I spoke with a hospitalist last night regarding a patient and was told how behind and overwhelmed she was. Our anesthesia docs have to cover our makeshift ICU in the PACU and they are overwhelmed and treading water, Staff on the floors are not getting lunch breaks because there is no one to relieve them. It all feels a little hopeless. I realize I have been going thru the stages of grief along with so many healthcare providers. Denial-not really discussing it with people with differing views. Anger. Bargaining- begging people to get vaccinated. Now I sit in limbo between depression and acceptance. I don't think I will fully hit acceptance with a virus where severe disease is preventable with a vaccine. I look back to other pandemics. The Spanish flu, that came in two waves. The second wave was the most deadly it lasted 2 yrs. Whole families died during that pandemic and there was no vaccine. By the end of the Spanish flu you either died or developed immunity. Not sure we will be so lucky here with some people getting vaccinated and the variants. But one can hope this is the second wave and we are toward the end. I have accepted that a majority of my extended family in Douglas County will never get vaccinated no matter how much I try to inform them. I will lose family members. It's a hard thing to fully accept since this death is preventable and needless just because they are too stubborn. If you see this and already don't just scroll by my posts on this subject, know that I love you regardless and hopefully this is not the last time I get to tell you that.
