Well it's snowing hard here! Maybe there is something to the weather casters this time. The wind has been laying the bamboo horizontal all morning, and the bird feeders (some of them heavy) are bouncing so much that the birds won't approach them!
Got the flashlights, battery to power the C-PAP, emergency radio and crampons out and organized.
We roasted a chicken and made a huge pot of chili with a double batch of cornbread last night, so no cooking necessary for a while.
The Weather Service just kicked the phones on with a "Heavy precipitation is spotted in your area!"report!
They say that at our location there could be 3/4" of ice on the wires and ground! Whoo Hoo!:D

It's starting to come down here in the Felida/Salmon Creek area. I'm glad I don't start work until tomorrow night.

Looks like we got more snow and a large dump of freezing rain last night. No winds, thank goodness.

I'm a teacher and I am getting tired of losing days. Know why? Because they'll be adding those days to the end of the year, unpaid. And who wants to trade a snowy freezing day for a sunny warm day?

It started snowing here in OC about an hour ago, pretty heavy for about 30 minutes, now just a few flakes floating in the air. Some snow on the ground, not much though. We have nowhere to go today, so we'll just sit home and enjoy the pretty view.

It's going to get nasty guys. It's snowing hard here and at 18 degrees. Reports are saying I-84 in the gorge will probably shut down west of me. Time will tell though. I probably won't have to go to work on Monday either, but who wants to build a barge in an ice storm anyway? :)

Just got to our place in Cinebar, WA. Cloudy, cold and gusty winds. Porch temp shows 27. Locally expecting an inch or two of the white stuff. Everybody stay warm and safe out there.

Yeah, I hear that, Chris! My grandson is not amused either, especially because it's not so much fun playing in the ice! :D

Windy with small flakes. The wife and I did our Sunday Albertsons trip early this morning. I secured tarps over both rigs to help ease the frustration caused by freezing rain later. Nothing like an emergency and the rig is frozen solid. Stay safe everyone.

The ice dam in the Salmon river is past town right now. The *locals* say they have never seen it backed up so far.
It did get up past 0* though:s0023:. May be summer next week getting into the 30s:s0132:

Flurries here in camas (north slope of prune hill), calling for maybe 2 inches of snow, then 2 of ice... grr.

Da Grove has a dusting of white on the ground, not even enough to cover our lawn yet. Lots of green still showing. Dandruffy snow wafting about. Pretty sure the world is about to end! Oh noez! :D

Of course I'll probably wake up to 6 inches of ice with another 6 of snow atop that, because I'm making fun of the snow-goddess and her inability to really douche us.

Maybe, just maybe, this will keep the idiots off the roads this time? Nah, people are in general too stupid. There's probably half a million people on the roads right now deciding it's the perfect time to go to Ross to get that bikini and flip flops right now, in their V6 mustang with bald tires...

I think I will take advantage of the storm by fitting a timney trigger to my FN 7×57 mauser let it snow and blow.
