I want to sbr my mp5

I just bought a very nice German mp5 parts kit along with a fully welded receiver. It transferred to me as a pistol and I want to do the paperwork to build an sbr out of it. Should I build it first as a pistol and then submit paperwork? And form 1 or form 4?

I would, otherwise you won't be able to play with it until the stamp comes back.

True. And the actual conversion is pretty easy and straight forward

Form 1 is for if you are building it.
Form 4 is for if you are buying it.

Go ahead and file the form 1 and start building the pistol. Put a arm brace on it in the mean time while you're waiting for the form 1 to be approved.

Build as a pistol, then submit your form 1. Have fun in the meantime.

Definitely pistol->SBR. I SBR'd mine a while back, and was using an <broken link removed> in the meantime. Pretty sure I have it sitting around if you want it for half price.
