I saw something unusual this morning.

I was driving over Santiam Pass early this morning and saw a Doe Mule Deer standing over her dead Fawn and I swear she was eating it. The fawn apparently had been struck by a vehicle. This is off-topic but shortly thereafter I picked up a young German couple hiking the Pacific Crest Trail from Mexico to Canada. I gave them a lift into Sisters and they were very grateful for the ride as the mosquitoes were giving them fits. I've picked up hikers on other occasions near HooDoo where the trail must come close to the highway.

Deer eat roadkill, even chew on the bones for the calcium. Its creepy but it happens.
