If you enjoy lush, slow, deep, European style epic masterpieces, try "Barry Lyndon" by Stanly Kubric, or "The Duelists" by Ridley Scott. Both are sweeping eighteenth century epics featuring men-of-pride dueling to the death with swords and pistols. Pure guts and tension!

Or for lighter, noisier fare (full THX surround sound), try "Aliens" with a Space Marine squad blasting away futilely against a legion of intelligent alien monsters. Big fun!..........................elsullo

I own the Box Set and have watched it start to finish a dozen times. IMO it beats out Saving Private Ryan by a nose.

Loved it much more than Saving Private Ryan. Not quite as happy with The Pacific though.

Seeing the actors who look like younger versions of the vets you see before/after each episode is unsettlingly chilling.
