I'm tired of the Rock River triggers I have on my current AR's. They were inexpensive at the time, and they feel like it. Too much creep, to much poundage for trigger pull, and reset is so sharp that it pops back rather than clicks.

Not looking to spend hundreds on a new trigger, so what's your suggestion for the best AR trigger for lower than say $200.00?

I cannot speak for other triggers out there, but I started out with DPMS and quickly moved on to a single stage 3lb Timney drop in. One of the best upgrades I have made and immediately noticeable.

70 bucks and done. Best affordable trigger upgrade.

^^^^^ Second THIS!!!

I have the ALG-ACT trigger on my HD AR. IMO it is a wonderful combat trigger. No grit. It is a milspec trigger polished to perfection. I put a spring kit in with it so that the pull weight is where I want it to be for a combat trigger.... about 5lbs.

Love Velocity triggers. I have them on my rifles. They're available from a NWFA sponsor (https://simplytriggers.com/best-ar-15-triggers/) who also carries a few others at great prices (no affiliation with seller; helping our community whenever possible). The 3# Velocity is $135 shipped at the website.

Good series of 3 videos showing different triggers, measured creep and reset travel, and general pricing (circa 2019).

^^^^ This too!

I had the Velocity 3lb drop in trigger in my varmint AR for accuracy. Wonderful trigger at a great price! No creep, no grit, breaks like glass.

Hiperfire EDT series. Crisp pull. Positive reset. Two trigger spring weights to choose from.
I do like Hiperfire and have them in a few of my platforms. I will caution that you ensure that your safety selector doesn't hang up. I've had that problem with my most recent rifle build and had to swap out the safety with a different one (JoeBob)

Not to get too far off topic, but the story behind why LaRue makes triggers has always been interesting. And as mentioned previously, Tom Vehr (sp?), the owner of the company that makes Velocity triggers, has one of the most impressive resumes' in the business. Velocity also uses a DLC coating, which I believe is one of the best finishes for friction parts in the firearm industry.

Primary Arms had a recent sale for the Geissele G2S; ended up paying a little under 150$ and got 40$ in store credit as well.

It is an amazing trigger and I especially like how it uses a full power hammer spring! A perfect balance between reliability and crispness!

LARUE fer the money is hard to beat. I bought several from a Fellow member here who would line up deals.
Abt $80.00 at the time.
I also found these Schmid 2 - stage Nickel Boron Plated Triggers which are on sale now fer $60.00....

Being NiB coated so slicker than Frog Snot.

I "Think" I can detect a wee bit more of "Gritty" on the Take Up, but Who Cares....
They are Crisp & reset is GTG...

IF you are doing SERIOUS match or Combat then Geissele is worth the loot...
