I know you're looking for a Bolt Action but, if all you're looking for
is a 22 Rifle that can shoot shorts most lever action 22's will function
with shorts and are tube fed.

I guess a lever action would work but I am hoping for something like a remington 500 series.

I just picked up a remington 514 at a pawn shop for $99. I see them frequently on Gunbroker for about the same price. Mine has Lyman #55 peep sights, and has never been drilled or tapped for a scope mount. Looking at the bolt/action configuration, it could be a little problematic.
