I've posted a couple of handguns with photos in the classifieds, as well as pictures of my guns with some accessories I'm selling. I've been finding pictures of my guns on other sites (Gunbroker, Armslist, eBay), and I'm not particularly happy about it. Can you block spiders from crawling your forums, or do I need to go in and remove those pictures to prevent this from happening? If I do so will I lose my ability to post in the classifieds?

Nope.

You pretty much cannot prevent pics from being copied. For everything the site can do, there is a workaround, and I doubt that JL wants to prevent classifieds from being crawled anyway. Even then, a person could join and still see the ads.

About the only thing you could do to reduce the stealing of your photos for fraud, would be to put a watermark across the photo. Something like "Not valid if seen anywhere but NW Firearms".

Deleting content is a BIG NO! Causes issues for the forum.

Would not solve the noted issue either, as other folks have pointed out.

Watermark sounds like a great idea tho! Would at least make scammers "jobs" a little harder.

Yes, please report scammers on wherever they live. Again, anything that makes their "jobs" harder.

it is not legal for someone to sell on ebay something that they don't own, or have posession of, it is called arbitrage, and rage is often involved when the original seller finds out they were used to drop ship an item to someone else.

I suggest trying to buy theirs from the listing, and not selling them the ones you have, hold them accountable thru ebays customer service, for not shipping to you what was listed, call them on their fraud.
I can tell you the customer service number if you like after you buy the grips and they don't ship them to you.since 2019 it is very much frowne upon by ebay for someone to list someone elses stuff, heck, you could just report their listing on the listing. it is report item, on the far right of their listing, in line with description and shipping and payments horizontally on their listing, it is just below the suggested items and then the sponsored items.

This is pointed out on the Colt forum on a semi-regular basis. Members receive PMs claiming to have just what they are looking for at an unbelievable price. And, yes, it is unbelievable. You can screenshot any image anywhere on the web and claim it as your own - and unless it is watermarked, anyone can claim it. As to security, any website can block the IP address of the scammer. But, if they are using a VPN or a proxy server, that is more difficult to do.

If you suspect an image, screenshot it and do a Google reverse image search. Normally, i will reveal the first site on the web in which that image was posted. It helps put the lie to many scammers. The web is forever. Whatever you post is either on a live site, or cached somewhere.

This is one reason why I won't buy stuff from private parties online if they have no history and they are new to a site. It will be FTF with such people. I have bought stuff from people thousands of miles away, but they have at least a few hundred posts and some selling history on the site. I generally don't buy from eBay either, and never have from GB/et. al.

An Ebay knife dealer was too lazy to take his own pictures and was linking to another reputable dealers pictures on his web site. So the good dealer changed the pictures linked to in the background to graphic gay porn. I think the other guy got booted from Ebay. Gotta love it when a plan comes together. :)

What I see on other sites is the sellers handwriting a note with their seller name, date, and laying it beside the object (ammo, firearm, part, brass, etc) in such a way it cannot be removed from the image without altering the object for sale. This in lieu of a watermark.

Goat Sex: some people have replaced their images with various porn images/etc. when others have hotlinked to them. This has caused some embaressing moments for people who were too lazy to copy the image and then host it themselves.
