Early adopters (aka Volunteer beta testers) do so at their own risk. I jumped on a .338 Federal Ruger Hawkeye early, but only because it was a great deal, and I knew I could always neck up .308 Win brass, if it became obsolete.

Maybe all those newbies that are buying up all AR-15's are mistaking .243 ammo for their .223 rifles. I mean it's only .020 difference.

I bought one.
A 243 M70 FW was at Cabelas for a long time. I kept looking at it. One time the floor sales guy said he would knock off on the price. So I bought it. It goes real well with my other M70s.
I also have a 243 Sako from the 60s era. In the past I had two 243 Rem725 rifles. Its a great calibre for up to small deer
