I have AT&T mobile service, how do i know which phones can be unlocked for use?

I'm in the market for a new phone that will work with AT&T, but I'm definitely not going to pay the ridiculous prices offered by the local stores. I'm looking to purchase an unlocked phone on eBay. Does anybody know which phones will surely work with my service, if I unlock them?

Basically, anything that started out as a T-Mobile or AT&T phone. Just note that some of the 3G features won't work from the T-Mobile phone.

The other phone companies use CDMA instead of GSM. If the phone says GSM on it, the talk features will work.
