I Freaking HATE New Seasons Market

Quality costs and people will pay for it including myself. I also like Trader Joe's. Yes you can get cheaper meat but the quality isn't there so we go to Gardners once a month

I'm a Gartners fan, too, but you might want to give White's Country Meats a try. I like Gartners ring sausage and bacon better, but everything else I tend to like better at Whites. The place is always packed - shoulder to shoulder packed, but they keep several staff behind the counter, so it goes pretty quick.

Then take the kids away. Leaving children with dopers and paying for their dope does not fix anything. All this does is create a whole bunch of new criminals. No matter how much the left loves to say this there is no one starving here. This is the same excuse the left has used for years. Coddle the criminals since you don't want to make them mad. Want a solution? Build camps for them. House them the same way our troops live and feed them like our troops. Some will learn and become productive. Those that don't can stay there instead of preying on those who work for the REST OF THEIR life. Making excuses for criminals fixes nothing.

I'm not suggesting to coddle the criminals. I'm also not suggesting any solution, or that one doesn't exist... I'm just saying there are compounding issues here, do you realize what it would mean to just simply "take away the kids"? Where are you going to put them and whos going to pay for such a program? And what right does the govt have to simply take away the kids from parents just because they are on welfare?

As for welfare - no one has the right to take my hard earned pay and give it to some else, except for me. As it stands, the current system of taxation and welfare is theft from those who work to give it to those who may or may not need it. I help out people as I see fit, or where I have a responsibility (such as my child) - that is voluntary charity - anything else is theft, armed theft by the government and those who voted for it.

I agree but I just dont know what the solution is? There will always be a percentage of society that cant, or wont, take care of themselves and it puts the burden on those that can and do. Like crime, that percentage has always been there and will never go away.

I don't know how old you are but you are way off here. There has always been crime but it has gotten FAR worse as we have made a never ending string of excuses for criminals. It now costs more to keep one in prison than it would be to put them in a nice hotel. This is used as yet another excuse. House them like we house our troops. Feed them like we feed our troops.

I agree. We do it both ways actually (we still pay into welfare...) but this is one thing the socialists ignore about capitalists as if no one ever donates to charity. I would rather have it charity based because I'm not rich and when money is tight I cant take care of others until I can take care of myself. Charity orgs can be set up non-profit and run ad campaigns to get contributions, a lot of people would contribute more if they had faster means to become more financially secure. But sadly, not probable due to politics and mindset...

Admittantly I do most of quick pickups at Safeway and about every other week Freddie's in Scappoose

My friends make the Columbia River Sourdough they carry so I was just curios. It doesn't say gluten free on it but my mom is highly sensitive and she can eat that bread but basically gluten free with everything else.

I thought their bread was baked there in the store, but no doubt they would well other breads too. All you have to do is ask them if their in house bread is gluten free... they love to talk about stuff like that.

back on topic I actually find Trader Joes way more expensive. If I go there and buy all the ingredients for a dinner its way more than New Seasons. TJ's excels in two places... novelty items you cant find anywhere else and cheap wine thats still palatable enough to enjoy as a daily glass with dinner.

The few times I went to Whole Foods convinced me they are the most expensive grocery store ever and never went back. Even their generic label was outrageous.
