Still, all funniness aside, Mosins aren't bad rifles. I'll shoot my ugly $100 (inflation adjusted) Big 5 Russian Mosin 91/30 against anyone's unscoped rifle anyday. In my hands, even with crappy surplus, its a consistently more accurate rifle than my SA Garand, SA '03 Mk1 or any of my other Finned Mosins except the M28/76 which requires 7.62x53 (not 54) handloads. I'll have to try it against my SA SAR-3 without its 4x Hensoldt scope sometime, as that might be the only rifle I have that might be more accurate.

I love all longarms and find it hard to say anything bad about any particular type of rifle at all. ( I really want that nice Colt SP-1 I saw on Cornelius Pass a few weeks ago...)
