Actually, renewal is 5 years on the CPL I haven't had to renew yet, so I don't know if I have to go there in person, or if I can do it online or through the mail. I'll find out in another 2 years.

And when it came to requesting it, it was no biggie. I think they asked why I wanted one, I simply stated I have family in the state (several actually) and I travel there to see them from time to time. They were very friendly and helpful in Clark Co.

So one just crosses the border into WA ( makes appoint or however) and then applies for WA CHL and they send it to you in Oregon ? If so do you have to travel back I guess every four to renew .

Clark County Sheriff Department - not sure you even need an appointment but I would call first.

IF you renew before it expires, I believe they just send you your new license.
