--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I'm very sorry for your loss.
If you post pictures on here, members will give you an idea of value- That said, with some firearms, a difference in stamping or number of screws in a frame, can make a dramatic difference in value, for example early revolvers- In which case there more specialist sources, like the Smith-Wesson or Colt forums, where they'll be able to give you a more accurate valuation.
It may seem overwhelming, and the last thing you want to spend time time on, but the good news is that most people on the forums are friendly, helpful and honest.
As far as selling- on this site would probably be easiest, local buyers and easy, legal transactions to verified "good guys" through your local FFL gunstore or pawnbrokers, that shouldn't cost you anything.
This should be a lesson to us to keep some kind of easy record of our firearms, ( or anything else valuable ), just in case- just a strip of tape on the box with a description and rough value or a file of photos with a similar description.
Times are tough when this happens.Hello community-
I was referred to this site by a Tigard police officer when I called to ask what I could do with my late husband's ammunition and things.
I am not knowledgeable about what he left behind an am seeking help in making sure his ammunition, gun belts, gun accessories, etc go to a lawful gun owner and not someone with bad intentions.
Was hoping to place an ad in your classified section but, am unsure the best way to do that.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thank you,
Nicole G
