Preaching to the choir.

No argument that there are benefits to Trump - although I think he is a moron and does more damage than good. I am just being realistic. The closer we get to election the more sure I am that he will lose.

I'm not sure. My wife has TDS real bad but all the riots and lack of social distancing and defunding the cops -- she's getting red pilled. I catch her listening to Tucker on youtube and she's started following a bunch of black conservatives. I never suggested any of that or even exposed it to her in the background. She just found it all by herself. She even commented once, "maybe Trump should win." I can't imagine she's the only one.

Secondly, people are recognizing exactly how damaging cancel culture is. I don't think the polls can be trusted for a number of reasons (primary being that sampling of potential Trump voters is rather poor and they haven't figured how to address that except by adding more fudge to the numbers). More than that though, people might be answering Trump questions like gun owners answer surveys: guns? what guns? I hate guns. They'll answer that way so they don't get canceled.

Maybe its all wishful thinking, but I was convinced that HRC would win 2016 like everyone else was. Now when I'm really down, I can watch unedited broadcasts of election night 2016 on youtube and experience that schadenfruede all over again.

All this "social unrest" is a GREAT thing for those of us who are desperately trying to hang onto what rights we have left. Notice the "news" has almost stopped reporting on it all of a sudden? They finally realized they were hurting their own people and are now trying to pretend its not happening any more. Portland had had people in the streets for how many weeks? Yet you see nothing on the national news any more. I hope they keep burning and looting, along with the police state law makers who can't wait to shut everything down. It just may wake up some voters who have been sleeping way too long.
The other fun part of this is watching the socialist's start to come for each other. As they try to out do each other and want to kick members of their own team out. Fun to watch.

I would agree with you on that. I have a lot of friends who will be voting for the first time this November (such as myself) and were on the line - not anymore. Now that the agenda of the left has been pushed to the extreme thanks to BLM and the Dems getting called out over the whole fiasco about where donations to BLM REALLY go they are more and more seeing the obscenity of it all and have taken the red pill hard. It's easy to forget that while the left has more vocal supporters especially in young people, it's the silent majority that is being changed over. You won't change extremists but your actions will deter the moderates, and all the left has done is deter and with over 9 million new voters that could be catastrophic for them. November will be interesting to say the least.

You know, I forgot to include myself. I had voted 3d party for many elections in a row right up to 2016. What pushed me over the edge to voting for Trump, was the relentless unwarranted negativity in the press and the never ending wailing over the fact that the most evil person in America failed to get elected. It was such obvious propaganda I figured that another lesson is in order and so this time, rather than just being a neutral, I've decided to vote for Trump to spite these bubblegum holes.

On its face it would seem odd to have 2 elections in a row with the "people lied to pollsters" argument. But I sure do wonder. The cancel culture in play right now, there are sure to be silent trump supporters. I can't see there being anyone right now scared to publicly support Biden in the same way.

I work in a heavily liberal dominate company, in a liberal dominate profession and industry. I keep my head down and avoid all political discussion at all cost. I know there are people i work with that if they suspected i might support trump even a little, then they would actively look for a way to get me fired.

Not suggesting all liberals feel the same or would do underhanded hateful things like that. Just that I know a couple I personally work with that would.

I feel that way too.

...

I can envision it happening. Let's say a person has a spouse with TDS and the pollster calls and the spouse is right there. I can totally see the person fudging answers to avoid a screamer. Or the person is at work and people like your coworkers are around -- the pollster will not be getting honest answers if they can overhear precisely because cancel culture is real, dangerous, and has no compassion. It seeks only destruction and feels nothing but self-satisfaction nuking some poor working stiff.

EDIT: there's also the issue that the pollster obviously has your phone number and probably a lot more info -- do you trust them to discrete, the company to not get hacked and the info to come out? I wouldn't. I suspect there are plenty of people who lost all their MAGA hats in a tragic boating accident.

I suspect we have a lot of Gray Man voters. My GF forwarded me this piece about the hazards of when an entire society goes Gray:

Though she and I both think the problem isn't the person choosing Gray as a defensive strategy, but rather the culture that creates a need whether real or perceived to do so.
