My name is Shawn, I'm 38, married and a lifelong Oregonian. I've been a sucker for all things firearms related as far as I can recall. One of my earliest childhood memories was my brother helping me hold, aim and fire a black powder pistol when I was about three. My parents did not share the gun bug, so until I was old enough to buy some for myself, I had to make do reading Guns & Ammo and Shooting Times in the high school library (Yes, once upon a time such things were possible). I like sharing information and finding new friends by any method available. I smoke, but not heavily; I like a good beer, now and then a more potent libation, and a bit of wine for no reason. I do not take drugs, for recreation or by prescription. I have a slightly shady past, but I am not a felon or fugitive. I love the idea of America, but acknowledge that in practice we are failing to live up to our own standards. I admit I am weird, but in a very interesting way. I am fat, but starting to live healthier, and I can feel the changes, even if they are not readily seen. Children and animals get along with me most of the time. I do not care for sports. I am a Libertarian. I believe in common sense, Rule of Law, rights and responsibilities. I judge people on their actions, not their beliefs, so you can be a Socialist and still be a nice person... I guess... I consider myself a conscious part of the natural world, and an unconscious participant in the unnatural world. So, that's the Nut Shell.
