Looking forward to exchanging ideas and thoughts with like-minded Pacific North-Westerners... I am picking up my new Ruger 10-22 take down on Tuesday, ordered the flash suppressor version. Plan to put a 4x scope on it... any suggestions as to what scope to get? It needs to be a short one in length in order for the receiver to still fit into the carry bag. Don't want to spend over $100 for the scope...

Welcome soldier!!!! Quite a few fellow veterans (including myself) on this site and they will steer you right on many subjects.
While I don't have the takedown version of the 10/22 I do know that some scopes that are fitted to AR's might work as they are 1/2 the size of a 3x9x40 scope like I have on my 10/22 Deluxe model.
    Good luck on your search.

    And from a true Southerner, it's y'all. ... just a little tip.:)
