I had a friend in high school whos dad was a lawyer. In the mid 80's he had one of those newfangled color copiers in his office and my friend printed up a hundred or so one dollar bills. He went down to the local car wash and was running them through the change machine. Donald as a genius. Literally. IQ in the 160's. Had a full ride scholarship set up to MIT. The cop who was watching him run the bills through the change machine did not agree about that though . Donalds dad got his charges reduced but MIT found out about it and yanked his scholarship.
Throwing away a college scholarship for $100 in car wash tokens doesn't seem very genius to me.

I just think that they wanted to inconvenience and hassle gun owners and sellers in any way they can. If they can push some FFLs out of business, great, if they can make purchasers drive further, perfect.

It's not necessarily about revenue or "making a difference", it's about ideology.

I have no doubt that some anti gun people sincerely believe that actions like what the OP mentions will reduce crime and keep others safe.

With that said....
I also think that measures like the those in the OP , simply are used to get more votes and support to push a personal agenda....
An agenda that is self serving and not for the good of all of America.

Measures like those in the OP , do nothing to stop crime or keep folks safe.
They do however , make it that much more difficult to purchase a firearm and maintain a firearm.
Just another in a seemingly endless series of hoops to jump through , restrictions , regulations and hassles to work through in order to exercise a Right.
Which is a far easier way to do away the 2nd Amendment , than any other method.

I read @Andy54Hawken 's post and am reminded of a quote:

"If you are for gun control then you are not against guns, because guns will be needed to disarm people. So it's not that you are anti-gun - you'll need the police's guns to take away other people's guns. So you are very pro-gun. You just believe that only the government (which of course is so reliable, honest, moral, and virtuous) should be allowed to have guns. There is no such thing as gun control. There is only centralizing gun ownership in the hands of a small, political elite and their minions."

As for me, in the past few days I did an assessment about what I have and what I needed, and made a couple of orders. One was simply a larger charging handle for my Benelli M2 Tactical.

I have no idea how any of this will play out, but I'm closing a few gaps on what I want as a minimum should Joe & The Ho actually do what they say...

As I nod in agreement with your initial comment.... I shake my head at what followed. I just don't get the need for "Joe and the Ho" comments. I don't agree with their agenda on guns by any means, argue your points all you want, but why refer to her as a Ho? Is it because you don't like her views, she is somehow lessor of a person or deserving a such a label? Rant over. Just don't get it. One can disagree with another without name-calling.

I take it you do not smoke or know anyone who does. Some smokes now cost $100 a carton. About 90% of that is tax. They originally claimed they were trying to get people to not smoke and only the VERY gullible believe that. It rakes in HUGE money. Law makers see this and drool. Of course the problem is local law makers can't make it state wide but, a lot of them do not have to be smart. How many local law makers are failed business people? If you look at their history it is often shocking how many of them fail at business, so they get into the law making game. A LOT of them really have no clue and really do believe people will just pay the tax and they will have big bucks to spend. Ever seen what is happening in CA and NY? They are chasing off the people with money at an alarming rate. Really think this is what they "wanted to do"? Chase off the money? Many law makers are experts at failing by deciding to eat the goose that lays those eggs. Sadly it only "works" as the people who vote keep putting the people who killed the goose back in to clean up the mess they made.
Chase off the people but take their money..

Hey why not, they have not run out of other peoples money yet :s0140:

Tacoma passed the same kind of law, with the same idea. They were going to make some bank. Tacoma has so far held off putting it in.
Unless this changes there will be CA type gun laws here because gun owners let it happen. :s0054:
So I heard that the CCP Virus de-railed the assembly of the group that was supposed to make recommendations to the council about how to write the law.
Also, every day I wake up I am surprised our gun laws are no where near as restrictive as in CA. It'll happen eventually.

My mom was a smoker up until the mid-90's. In AZ we would go to the "rez" to get her smokes. Being a smoker is not the same as being a gun owner. The chemical addiction of smoking makes it so that even if you tax the ever-living piss out of cigs, there'll still be a substantial number of people buying cigs within the tax district. Yes, many will go to a rez or another city when they can plan it.
I must say that the local alcohol situation here is ridiculous, and I still buy it. I try and stock up when I travel and bring it back, but often I also buy it in town. And it is EXPENSIVE these days!
I don't think politicians mind eating the golden-egg laying geese. They are not in the business of being fiscally responsible, honestly I think deep-down they probably feel like "tax everything else" will be there fall-back.
I expect, due to the significant loss of tax revenue in 2020, we are going to see a lot ox "tax everything else" instead of government cuts in the near, very near future.

I believe it 100% that they wanted to punitively tax businesses that sell guns and ammo out of their city. Yes, I do believe the Seattle city council to be a bunch of simpletons. It was never about making money. They may not like Cigars but they hate guns.
And it gives them an opportunity to pick-pocket them on the way out!

Her promiscuous tryst with Willie Brown and his comments about her ambitions are all matters of record.

I'm going to guess a moderator is going to delete your post any minute now. But, you may know about this:

So "the moderator" won't allow freedom of opinions? I rarely ever visit this site or many others. Everything is turning nanny and censorship.

It seems that way on many forums I am on. We need to "self censor". They do own the platform, so there's that.

I'm sure most people on here would agree on many of the things that we aren't allowed to discuss.

More than that -- her affair with Brown, who was 31 years older than her, is how she got her start politically. She would not likely be president if she hadn't traded sex for jobs. There are terms that describes people who use sex transactionally and one of those terms (rhymes with Joe) is literally descriptive of one of the incoming presidents.
