They sell a deck antistick spray at most mower shops. I still think it is snake oil though. I have used Pam. It doesn't work long. Air is your best bet, but is messy to clean the slop off

Ok a quick update. I cleaned up the mower's deck today and then applied a layer of car wax on it. After that, I also spray a generous amount of silicone spray (WD-40 Specialist). These were the 2 items I had in my garage so decided to try them out.

I then mowed the front yard but I didn't mulch this time as the grass is wet, so I bagged them instead. After mowing, I turned the mower on its side to do a quick inspection and found that very little grass stick on the deck. There were some but the main difference here is that rather than being sticky and requiring a plastic scrapper to scrap off, a quick wipe with a rag removed everything on the deck. Very nice!

I sprayed another layer of silicone spray before putting the mower away. I think I'll work this into my routine from now on: mow, wipe deck, spray down with silicone lube and put away. And maybe once a month or so reapply the car wax.

How about one of those hose attachments that will "wash" it before putting it away?
My John Deere D125 rider has one of those built in and it actually does a pretty fair job at that. I just pulled the deck for the first time in almost 5 years and there was an impressive lack of built up grass. I am in the process of cleaning and painting the deck and making a mulching cover for the discharge chute. That will also get the same treatment.

Even better if you bread the cat first, and doesn't need as much hot sauce!
