My Dodge flatbed is made of fairly thick steel, and I unintentionally backed into a few things like stumps, trees and logs. It bent more than I would have expected.

I intend to put a strong steel bumper with grill guard on the front, with a winch. On the Toyota I am debating whether to add a steel or aluminum bumper. The Dodge weighs 3X what the Toyota weighs and has the suspension designed for the weight of the Cummins, so adding weight there is not as bad as adding it to the Toyota which has a IFS and a light 4 cylinder engine.
