Well in a electoral election I-1639 would have went down in flames. Unfortunately WA has a serious problem with King County. Maybe they could be thrown out of the state and become a land locked nation of anti gunners.

Nice work on putting those numbers in easy to read layout.

... Unfortunately WA has a serious problem with King County. ...

While I agree with you on King county, it seems that an additional problem is developing east of the Cascades as well. Roughly 2/3 of ballots cast in E WA came from counties that either voted close enough to 50/50 to pose no meaningful resistance to King, or actually voted in favor of I-1639. I'm not sure what the deal is, but it seems to me that E WA is becoming less reliable with respect to 2A rights.

It's probably happening around the nation. When we hear about the mass shootings so frequently, even staunch 2A supporters begin to question if more restrictions are needed. In my opinion more restrictions will do little to help - people who want to kill, will find a way; particularly when blatant red danger flags are ignored and bad people are allowed to get guns, which has happened in many of the mass shootings.

So, non-thinking Ds push laws that only law-abiding people will follow, having no effect on deranged criminals. As I think back on the mass shootings, in every case a concealed carry gun or two in close proximity might have stopped the shooter before they killed so many - except Las Vegas. Handguns would not have helped in that situation - he was too far and essentially had full-auto firepower.

I do not support uniformed armed guards - they would be the first targets. If you want paid guards, put them in plain clothes. EDIT: But the guards should have a fluorescent yellow "SECURITY GUARD" vest in their pocket to put on before the cops arrive, so they don't get shot, and it would be good if the dispatcher knows what businesses have paid guards to warn the police responding to an incident.
