Cabelas $199 price on Taurus PT111 Millennium G2 (now$229)and the 709 Slim almost makes them throwaway pistols. Not sure about the PT111, but the Slim has got some good reviews. Almost bought one. I have seen them for around $165. I think that Taurus is trying to make up for lost time with their prior manufacturing issues.

The laws of supply and demand always work in a capitalistic economy. Hell... they even work in a socialist and communist economy. Food in Venezuela is pretty dam expensive right now if you can even find it and China isn't even communist, there Prime Minister or whatever leader they have sure as hell isnt getting the same rations and pay as the rest of the country so that ain't communism.

Anyway, I bought a Keltec RFB and a Tavor SAR during the Obama presidency and if I didn't get to have a blast shooting them until now it would make me kick my own butt to think about the money I would have saved had I bought them now instead. However, things could have gone quite differently at any moment with laws coming out the tube and the election. I could have been very happy I got them when I could. So in that regard, I am very happy I overpaid compared to now because it means for 4 years we don't have crooked Hillary as President.

This is a constant, the should I wait thing. When flat screen TV's started to come down to the point of a nice used car I finally pulled the trigger. Wife was all "well it may be on sale next week". I told her with electronics that never ends. I said if we wait for the bottom we will never buy one.
Now with many guns, like the one you bought, it's a whole different thing. You could not know what the idiots in congress were going to do or who was going to win. I bought my second ASR a lot sooner than I planed for that same reason. Told Wife if that woman wins these may be the next thing they go after and so I laid one in. Was even willing to sell one gun to help pay. Something I almost never do anymore. One thing to remember to is I am not a gambler but I would bet BIG we have not seen the last panic of our time. VERY good chance there will be another and the gun you bought will suddenly look like a great deal again.

The really cool thing I am seeing is all the parts prices and availability. I can get parts now that were on back order or non existent, and even better, the market has slowed on parts, while the stock levels have gone up! I just ordered a bunch, ( and I mean A BUNCH) of parts from all over, I couldn't afford not to at these prices!

Any presidential election causes inflated prices. That is a fact!
