What's the point of two dozen buried guns when I'm being attacked ? Besides, when guns are outlawed, even one gun makes me a criminal.

Guns will never be fully outlawed, not in your lifetime or mine. Even if they outlawed a sort or type which i don't see happening with semi-automatics or 30 round+ mags since the District of Columbia v. Heller decision, where the Supreme Court ruled lawmakers cannot ban an entire class of gun that people commonly use for self defense. Almost everyone i know that has a semi automatic rifle/carbine or ar 15 pistol etc... uses one of the many versions for their main defensive weapon. I know i do.

Anyways with that as the latest decision + The whole second ammendment issue with its wording including security (defense) of a free state. There is no hope for anything to change on the gun front. But i do think they will & its unfortunate make it so all 'legal gun sales' will have to go through a background check & possibly some law that says you have to have firearms locked up when not in use. Which amazingly everyone will be on there way to the shooting range if the jack boots come knockin.

They know that. They will have to take down the 2nd amendment a little at a time to keep people from revolting

I see it this way

Step 1) Reenact the Brady bill, Bipartisan support with NRA support and it will be law by this March. Not many Republicans right now would not sign that bill.

Step 2) Offer a "assault weapon" buy back program $3000 per gun $100 per mag, alot would turn in if paid enough

Step 3 Assault weapon registration required, if found in possession of an unregistered weapon 2 year jail time and confiscation of all guns.Felony meaning hard to get a job after that,most would regester, few might hide one in the wall and resheetrock.

Step 4) Assault weapon high cap mag confiscation/mandatory turn in program,they now know where to look because of the registry, Oh you lost it, they tear apart your house looking sorry

Step 5 ) Turn in your neighbor program with rewards for those that think they know someone illegal

Then they do the same with handguns.

Just my take, but i feel it will take many years

It won't matter because right now there is only one conservative that will suport it, the Democrat from W.Virginia & well he knows he just sacrificed his job come his re-election by siding with his party instead of his constituents on an issue that mattered to the conservatives that voted for him. Thats the same way it played out for Clinton after the assualt weapons ban in 94 then the mid term elections later that year. The republicans cleaned house per say & the senate to boot. So there's one senator that'll be getting replaced in 2014.

What if they passed a $10 tax per box of ammo? or a $300 violence tax on a new Glock? this is what I think they're going to do. With a new 'Violence czar' and a bloated organization plus research into why there are shootings, will require an enormous budget, along the order of socialist Canada taxing cigarettes to almost $10 a pack. I just personally think it will end with the house compromising with the anti's in a couple areas (background checks/storage law when not in lawful use such as defense etc) and it will have to do. But you are right anything is possible. If you really want to know what i think then its that these attacks are orchestrated by the Government for timing. Look at the UN small arms treaty. The only way obama could make the other parties happy is if he creates a way to remove the same weapons all the other co-signers have managed to remove from their civilians. We are truly Fvcked if thats the case unless we become non compliant thru and thru with any new lawful order that is unlawful as of right now.
