Tens of millions unemployed. Racial tensions exploding into riots in major cities. Over a hundred thousand dead from a pandemic. A greatly divided nation. And a long, blisteringly hot summer ahead. All ingredients for more mayhem.

So, what are you doing, in practical terms for more civil unrest and social breakdown? Have you changed long term plans? Any changes to your firearms battery?

(Note: Let's please keep this on real world, practical preparedness actions and politics out of it. Thanks in advance.)

Trying to stay out of Portland. So far, I failed this week, but I think I am mostly done now buying stuff there. I don't think any of that rioting will spill over out of downtown - if it does, then it will be more than the usual crowd going down there making trouble then going home to their mom's basements.

Picking up some more ammo Monday. Once I get that I have some testing to do with it - I have one 5.56 rifle that doesn't like US milspec ball (can't remember, but I think it was M855) - it rips the rim off about once per mag which results in a FTE. I think it is overgassed. I will try M855, then M193 and then this Russian ammo. If it is overgassed I may get one of those adjustable pistons for it.

When WA CO opens back up, going to get my CHL

I promised all my neighbors only #4 buckshot ice.
A couple of us already studied vulnerable backgrounds.
We all exchanged phone numbers.

edit; In Case of Emergency

Loading more ammo than usual, practicing target shooting in the back yard with the kids. Freezer full from a whole beef, garden planted, extra gas for generator so we can avoid going into town for quite some time if needed.

Nothing too much different...
Staying alert to my surroundings...
When in the "city"...staying on task , as it were...with why I am there and again staying alert...

Firearms are ready if needed...but so are many parts / facets of a plan.
Some more of the commonly used household items / food are being laid in....
All in all ...not much has changed for me.

1. Steering clear of Seattle (not that I ever go there much anyway, except to get to the ferry dock on my way to see the kids).
2. Staying the HELL outta Portlandia!
3. Replenishing ammo stocks (mostly just pistol stuff, already got 15,000+ rds rifle ammo)
4. More USPSA/IDPA-style practice than usual (reason for #3)
5. A "wee bit" more cardio work
6. Keeping fridge and vehicles full of food and gas, respectively
7. Keeping my head on a swivel/watchin' my top-knot...

I tried by voting in the 2020 Oregon Primary, but they have no record of receiving my mail-in ballot...
...An elections compliance specialist is investigating.

Check your ballot status with the above link.

Also checked my fire extinguisher.

While the world is busy ending, spring hasn't been too terrible. Spending more time working from home and going on walks with the family. If it wasn't for all the terrible stuff in the news, which I try and moderate my intake of, I'd say things are going pretty great. We go to the store and replenish the supplies we've used. I'm very fortunate to live where I do and in the manner that I do. We're as prepared as we're going to be, within reason, and taking each day as it comes.

I hope you all are in a comfortable place and doing well. The media is not your friend and they are in the business of selling panic. Follow basic human kindness and treat others as you want to be treated. Love thy neighbor and take care of you and yours. We will either make it through this or we won't, but getting too stressed out isn't going to help either way.

Also: Completed and filed our houses 'Transfer of deed upon death."
Some things Oregon is still decent about. No probate issues, no hiccups, no bs.
Direct transfer to my wife... I C E.

Also, replacing all my comfy short pants elastic waistbands with no-stretch webbing or rope.
No more shorts falling to my knees because I'm a fat man with no butt and a heavy sidearm.

If you currently hold title as H & W, the TODD is redundant. Also worth noting if Oregon lasts that long that property conveyed by a TODD is exposed to potential claims against the estate of the decedant for 18 months.

I plan on leaving no claimants.
Thank you for this though. :)
