The Left is telegraphing its eventual plan with all this talk of abolishing the police. They don't want anarchy or endless free goodies for looters. That's propaganda for the stupid college kids that go to their rallies/riots. They ultimately want to replace local control with something like the NKVD (which later became the KGB). These centralized agencies then make use of networks of paid snitches to keep the population in a state of terror. This is probably a lot of the purpose of the virus restrictions on movement and freedom. They are trying to get people accustomed to the idea of ratting out their neighbors. Things like red flag laws fall into that category as well.
The Left is neither "communist" or "capitalist" by nature. It is a mass political disease that has been slowly growing since religious authority began to decline in 19th century Europe and it has now spread globally. It operates by forging coalitions of discontented (or just opportunistic) people from whatever social classes are at hand. This is why it spreads best in times like these when you have high unemployment, fear, disease, war, and unrest. These different groups do not really have any common interests and in normal times do not even get along. What can begin to happen though is that in times of chaos cynical factions within the ruling class itself will begin to organize the various groups of malcontents into a (temporarily) unified force. Modern mass media makes this trivially easy. They will use whatever various grievances exist among these different groups. This is why it can be hard to recognize and does not reuse previous symbols and motifs. The purpose of these "revolutions from the top" is not (primarily) to address whatever the specific grievances are but to amass absolute power in the hands of the revolutionary faction of the ruling class.
In Russia leading up to the October Revolution of 1917, there was discontent in the countryside among the peasants who were relatively new to freedom since the emancipation from serfdom by Tsar Alexander II in 1861. There was anger among the urban working class due to harsh working conditions, there was national disunity and feelings of humiliation at the shocking defeat of Russia in the Russo-Japanese War of 1905, people of all classes felt that the lavish lives of the Tsar and his court were an affront to everyone particularly given the horrors of WWI and Russia's involvement with it. The Tsar feasts while you die in trenches! At the time the ideas of Karl Marx and other socialist ideologues were popular among many people from factory workers, to peasants, to middle class university students in Moscow and St. Petersburg. Thus the revolution had an explicitly socialist and communist character and made use of common symbols among such groups such as the hammer (workers) and sickle (peasants).
Our revolution has a substantial racial element (calls for reparations and removal of police), support among aimless college age kids now with nothing to do given that their classes have been cancelled, support from sexual minorities, support from "greens", support from certain Jewish groups, as well as a certain element of traditional socialism (the Bernie faction), which is generally downplayed by its advocates. It is led from the top, from the boardrooms of major corporations and particularly the tech monopolies in Silicon Valley. This is why virtually every corporation jumped on the BLM train and started putting out ads showing exactly which side they were on before the details of the Floyd case were even clear. This is why they are all so enthusiastic about the virus panic.
It is tied to high level Democrats (and even Republicans) due to the fact that many powerful and wealthy supporters of Hillary Clinton felt that Trump's election in 2016 was illegitimate because he failed to win the popular vote and other reasons such as his policies on mass immigration. They have essentially created a shadow state organized around Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama and a "deep state" of CIA and FBI operatives. Antifa has been organized to project the power of this new state in urban areas and help drive out remaining elements of local law and order as well as people like white or hispanic small businessmen who are unsympathetic to it.
Like all previous Leftist revolutions these people are a lethal threat to individual liberty, personal and economic freedom, and civilization itself. They respect no laws beyond their own will to power. They will not hesitate to murder people by the millions - again. People seem to think that revolutions are something that happens on a particular day, that there's going to some sort of heroic or tragic music playing, banners flying, etc... That's all Hollywood nonsense. Make no mistake - they have started their revolution. This is what it looks like. You are watching it. It is not inevitable. It must be stopped. It must be destroyed.
