You guessed it, another project rifle.
This started life as model 1885 Hopkins and Allen falling block shot gun... They don't have much collector value which makes them perfect for conversion to rifle.
It's a single shot action. You pull the rear of the trigger guard down which opens the breech block.
This has been converted to .38spl but I never finished it. Needs sights and bluing. The barrel blank, barrel band and fore stock was surplus from Star of Spain for their rolling block replicas.
What looks like a saddle ring is the take down pin. Unthread it and the front assembly comes off.
I have test fired about a dozen rounds and hit 6" plates at 50 yards just eye balling it.
The initials "J.B." carved in the stock are original.
Now you can finish it and make it your project rifle. If nothing else it makes a cool wall hanger.
$175 No trades. No transfer fee because it's older than 1899 per BATF.
