    I don't know if it's a good thing or not. I guess we'll see.

I've become a Savage fan in the past few years, I hope this benefits them. I guess there had been rumours ATK was going after a portion of the Freedom group, maybe Savage had a better offer?

Well, hopefully it will turn out better than Freedom Group's acquisitions. But since I don't really think much of any of Savage's lines (rimfires excluded in that statement), not sure I care all that much...

How'd this work out for every other gun company that's been purchased in recent years?

It sounds like it might be a good thing, but I just hope that this doesn't mean that Savage rifles will suddenly become unobtainable, like Speer Deep Curl bullets, and CCI Mini Mag .22 ammo!

Good news for me, my parents work for ATK. They get employee discounts on a bunch of ammo, reloading, cleaning, etc. Hopefully this will add firearms to the equation.
I am not a fan of many Savage firearms, but a solid discount on that .338 Lapua would make me a definite buyer.
