Freedom From War

It is very clear on targeting nuclear arms and capabilities of invading your neighbors. Especially the US and Soviet Russia. There's nothing in there that could possibly be interpretted as targeting personal freedoms unless you're taking stuff out of context on purpose. It's goal is clearly to reduce the risk of nuclear war and mutual destruction, not target our personal weapons.

reading the treaty too, check this out:
With respect to aspects of the conventional arms trade, the arms trade treaty
should apply to:
• Transactions between States;
• Transactions between States and a private end-user;
• Commercial sales;
• Rentals;
• Loans, gifts or any other form of transfer.

thankfully Canada says hell no
Canada strongly believes that an instrument should be confined to transfers
which will involve arms or related technology moving from the territory of one
State to that of another State, including Government-to-Government or State-toState transfers. An instrument should not cover transfers within a State. An
instrument also should not impose restrictions on how arms may be acquired, held
or used within a State's territory. Furthermore, an instrument should not place overly
burdensome controls on the movement of privately owned firearms and should
respect the existing and legitimate interests of firearms owners, producers, brokers
and retailers.

this is from the 2006 treaty which Pres. Bush refused to sign off on. even Russia sees it as a national security risk. it makes no sense for a country to publicly share its military secrets, especially telling the world what we're packn.

heres the link https://www.un.org/disarmament/convarms/ArmsTradeTreaty/

ans as much as that video sounds like a tin foil hat parade they really do mean to disarm all but state powers. it would in fact remove individual citizens from owning weapons to eliminate civil unrest.

i didnt see anything that confirms Obama supporting this but im going to keep looking. it would definitely prove that using the recent mass shootings for moving towards a global power along with eliminating the 2nd amendment.

PS: yes obama is in full support for the treaty as drafted and has undermined the Bush administration's stance on this treaty. Bush opposed it because it would in fact remove the right of citizens to own weapons.

also found a dumbed down article that makes it a bit easier to understand http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Dl8qX9nSBI

it is actually a very sly move towards the treaty.
