The whole idea of conscription goes against our individual rights, regardless of gender.
From a certain point of view.. all able bodied citizens of age and of sound mind are members of the Militia. It can then be argued that the draft/selective service registration is just so the States and Feds know how many can be "mustered" for defense/militia service. On the other hand, the idea of a permanent, standing paid volunteer military runs counter to the Founding Fathers' concept that there not be a standing Army and that defense of the State and Nation be available from all militia members.

It isn't about service, it is about voluntary service vs. conscripted service.

"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State"

I have no problem with maintaining a draft registration. Its just constitutional.
