Hi Annie! Welcome!

As Direct Drive hinted on the volunteer cleanups, I'll pop off a couple rounds about that too.

If you shoot on public lands you know the problems we have out there. The trash left behind, trees being shot down, the dangers of people not using adequate backstops, conflicts with nearby neighbors and other recreation groups and shooting places being closed down.

So, we do cleanups to raise awareness, convert some irresponsible shooters, mentor the new ones, do some good for the great outdoors and try to save our places to shoot. It goes a bit beyond that for me, as I started a nonprofit organization specifically focused on promoting responsible shooting on public lands, and it has become my 2nd full time job (only unpaid!). We work Oregon and Washington.

Keep an eye on the Northwest Firearms Events sections, or my website Events page, for info about cleanup events. Typically from Spring through Fall. This is were you'll meet a lot of great people and the 'After Party' is really fun.

So, get your gun, Annie! And come join us when you can!

I was born and raised in oregon lived in most towns along highway 99 spent a good chunk of childhood in monroe oregon loved it there currently in salem spent my high school years here learned about guns at a younger age shot a .22 rifle around 7 or 8 oddly on my first visit to salem lol have shot around seven guns owned a few am a S&W lover all my kids have fun names i told there dad awhile after are son was born gave him time to figure it out on his own and he didn't took my gun safety class at northwest firearms with dave blackstone at the helm been in the shop several times previously lived in gladstone ten years
