    Just recieved this via email;

    Dear J&G Customer,
This is a special notice to warn you of impending new gun regulation. The ATF has proposed to require gun dealers to provide directly to the ATF the names, addresses, and serial numbers for every purchase of two or more semi auto, mag fed rifles within a five day period!! They are trying to force this in by January 5th, without any approval from Congress, calling it a needed "emergency" regulation. This is backdoor registration of guns and gunowners.

Here is a quote from the notice by the NSSF (National Shooting Sports Foundation) regarding this burdensome and illegal move:

"The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) is moving to require federally licensed firearms retailers to report multiple sales of modern sporting rifles beginning January 5, 2011. Specifically, the ATF requirement calls for firearms retailers to report multiple sales, or other dispositions, of two or more .22 caliber or larger semi-automatic rifles that are capable of accepting a detachable magazine and are purchased by the same individual within five consecutive business days."

We are encouraging everyone to contact the relevant officials to protest this move. The office that approves regulation changes like this that bypass Congress is the Office of Information and Regulation affairs of the DOJ and they can be reached at 202-395-6466. You can call your Senator and Representative at the US Capitol switchboard at 202-224-3121.

The NSSF offers the following points to make when calling

"Multiple sales reporting of long guns will actually make it more difficult for licensed retailers to help law enforcement as traffickers modify their illegal schemes to circumvent the reporting requirement. Traffickers will go further underground, hiring more people to buy their firearms. This will make it much harder for retailers to identify and report suspicious behavior to law enforcement."
"Long guns are rarely used in crime (Bureau of Justice Statistics)."
"Imposing multiple sales-reporting requirements for long guns would further add to the already extensive paperwork and record-keeping requirements burdening America’s retailers – where a single mistake could cost them their license and even land them in jail."
"Last year, ATF inspected 2,000 retailers in border states and only two licenses were revoked (0.1%). These revocations were for reasons unknown and could have had nothing to do with illicit trafficking of guns; furthermore, no dealers were charged with any criminal wrongdoing."
"According to ATF, the average age of a firearm recovered in the United States is 11 years old. In Mexico it’s more than 14 years old. This demonstrates that criminals are not using new guns bought from retailers in the states."
"Congress, when it enacted multiple sales reporting for handguns, could have required multiple sales of long guns – it specifically chose not to."

And this differs substantially from the anready in place law tat retailers have to report the multipe sale of handguns in the same 5 business days. Wait 6 usiness days and defeat the purpose.

You better buy some rifles before the date mentioned. Hurry! Cash out your retirement if you have to...it will be an investment.

No! I don't believe it! The administration is the friend of gun owners! LOL. I guess the liberals in power didn't get the message during the last election cycle. They tried to pass a trilliion dollar, pork filled mess yesterday, now they attack our gun rights. Very nice.

I've said it before, but the term is "reverse incrementalism". In other words, get all the necessary peripheral details in place now, before any one knows what is happening. Then hit them with the death blow after it's too late to act.

That being said, most of us will only shrug our shoulders and say, "oh well, I'll just buy one at a time, six days apart. Seems pretty simple right ? But, what if this is only part one of the master plan. Lets say the ultimate agenda is a future expedited reporting requirement on every single purchase with, God forbid an outright ban, with very little advance warning that it's coming. In that scenario, this new "emergency" regulation would catch all the panic buyers trying to get everything they want before the next regulation goes into force.

We have given the grabbers a perfect example of what gun buyers would do with the ammo shortages. Panic buying and hoarding. Records on file of multiple purchases in a small time period will be a perfect "homing beacon" in the future, for the first places to look for caches of firearms.

    an "assault weapon"?

Unless it's a select fire or fully automatic weapon it's not an "assault weapon".

"Assault weapon" is a term used by gun banners to confuse those that don't know the correct term and hopefully get them to support gun bans. Made popular by the "brady bunch" and parroted by the news media.

The correct term is "modern sporting rifle".

Not everyone posts it I guess.

Speaking of " shrugging our shoulders", after reading Ayn Rand's "Atlas Shrugged" I always cringe when I hear the words "Emergency Action" (code for: Socialism in action) by our "looter" Politicians in Washington.
The tendacy to create an emergency to promote unpopular policy seems to be pretty common these days. Does anyone remember the banker bailout couple year ago, when guys like me (and probalby you) who where actually paying their mortgage and working 40 hours a week got the shaft when the econmy failed thanks to the Looters and their "too big to fail friends".

I've been saying for 2 years now to quit buying stock and buy bullets instead.

Guns and Gold! The best 2 investments that you can make right now. When SHTF, guns and gold will mean everything. If you have the gold you can buy guns, If you have guns, you can take the gold.

i see where you are heading.... what does the 'A' in AR stand for? quit being technical when you can easily understand someone's point without feeling like a correction can be found by looking hard enough.

and that was more or less my point.... why worry about policies being put into effect when some individuals post pictures, or simply text stating "i have 'X' number of this or that" if nobody knows you have it, who can demand that you turn it over??
