A Very Nice example of a Smith and Wesson Model 10. The only other question is what is the Dash number. That should be located on the frame, under the crane.

A fine example of a mid-century revolver.
 
It has no diamond in the grips (post circa 1967) but it has a pinned barrel (pre circa 1982) so likely made some time between those two approximate years.
 
I think many newer shooters after the advent of disposable pistols have never experienced such works of art and science. These revolvers made bullet magnets out of any target. So easy to shoot, so controllable, and so foolproof. :cool: They have survived countless soldiers and cops for most of a century.
