Makes me think of one of the reasons that Rock River is a little sucky.
Misuse of Loctite
Commercial RE's (and buttstocks)
Still using rifle BE's
You need counseling, pal.I use rocksett everywhere, and then I stake castle nuts and gas block screws.
I have separation anxiety. You need counseling, pal.
Yep.I assembled my umpteenth lower tonight in about 45 minutes with time between parts letting my hands uncramp. Did 99% by memory. Had to refresh myself on the trigger spring orientation.
My only part I hate is the mag catch rollpin. Ugh, I loathe that task.
Yep.
That's a man-boy separator.
There's a Youtube video of a guy (boy) actually folding over the end of that roll pin.
Then he calls it good.
LOL
Everyone has their own way of installing that pin.
I use the "Brownell's Method" and add tape with a drill bit chaser.
I cringe when I see the "Plier Method", but whatever works (without collateral damage).
IIRC, torque for the castle nut is 38-42 ft lbs with grease on the threads (from the Tech Manual).
Stop it.That is the correct torque spec for carbines, for rifles it is 35-39 ft.lbs.
so should i also use locktite?
ok 38 got I'll take your advice. I have to buy a torque wrench tommorow. I put the upper on the lower and have a bit of a wiggle
side to side what can i do to fix
38 ft lbs happened.
