Based on SN, year of production is 1894. The modifications will impact value.

Looks like the stock has been gloss coated and a modern buttpad has been added…. that does NOT help the value.

Please do NOT clean the patina off the metal, that will further reduce the value.

Looks like a Model 1894 rifle with a 3/4 magazine...a popular option at the time.
Is that a Lyman or Marbles rear tang sight....?

Originally the rifle probably had a crescent style butt plate.
As noted the butt pad and stock re-finish will affect value.
And a big second plus to not taking the patina off of the metal.

Yes.

The Mod 94 'Carbine' was introduced with a round barrel.

Octagon barrels came along later in some different configurations and lengths but the 20" 'Carbine' (and variations) had round barrels and are the most desirable.

My 1899 'Klondike' Mod 94 'Sporting RIfle' with a 26" octagon barrel and no saddle ring.

I'd love to just hold that rifle. I thoroughly enjoy just holding history. Speaking of history, I can't imagine the stories of history that @Andy54Hawken could tell with his very impressive collection of BP rifles and possibly pre rifling smoothbores. I'm that guy at the gun show always asking to see an old firearm. Really cool thread, thanks for the pics.
