A good friend inherited this from his brothers estate. Anybody recognize what it is from? Appears left handed bolt or bolster. I have not seen the inletted channel, so I am not sure if it is for a cartridge gun or muzzle loading rifle. I guess military by the barrel band retainers. Any guesses?

WW2 Remington 03a3 stock with 2 cross pins.
Notch on the left side is clearance for the magazine cut-off .
Barrel band spring slot is squared at the end. Smith-Corona stock would have a rounded end cut.

( not a guess , BTW )

Nice stock !

Thank you. I have it in my possession now. No cracks, repairs or major gouges. Has a new coat of finish on it. No cartouche marks except circle P proof mark. Has well fitted steed butt plate with trap.
