The rifle
Complete 100% Aero Precision M5
•18" Aero Precision assembled upper with I assume a non adjustable gas block.
•Nickel Boron BCG ( disassembled cleaned lubed)
•CMC trigger
•AP M5 buffer tube, spring and buffer
• AP M5 charging handle
Magpul 10 round magazine

The issue
Rifle will chamber first round and go close full battery
Rifle will fire and eject first round
Rifle does not chamber another round...

My first thought is gas issue...
Buffer?
Buffer spring?

Pretty disappointed that a 100% AP rifle does cycle.
I'll also reach out to Aero P on Monday.

Gas block or buffer is my first thought.

When you say complete, do you mean you bought it directly from AP as a complete rifle, assembled it with all AP parts, or purchased it from someone who told you it was AP

This may be a better fit in the Rifle Discussion section, if you haven't already tried there

Assuming it has a buffer and spring.., that spring may be too strong? Could be undergassed... gas port isn't centered correctly or tube got kinked.

Sounds like 100% AP Upper and you assembled the lower.
I wonder if Aero test fires their uppers ?
Aero will ask you for a complete parts list on your lower.

1) Will the rifle cycle ammo by hand ?

2) I would be using full power, 7.62x51 NATO ammo for the break in.
Assuming that's your chamber, since you don't say.

3) I wouldn't monkey with the upper until you hear from Aero.

My assumption in buying 100% M5 AP parts mainly buffer tube, spring, buffe, assembled upper and BCG all M5 is that they would all play well together.
I had heard stories of Frankensteining a AR10 together and want to go down that road.

will it strip a cartridge off the top of the magazine? If yes, the bolt is not coming back far enough; spring or gas issue. If no, the magazine is not fully seated. My money is on Aero Precision having screwed up on gas block installation. Of course I am assuming you aren't running reloads or trying to run subsonic heavies?
