Just purchased my first sidearm(s). Colt 1911 Anniversary III. I have been looking for this model for about a month and finally found one Last Wednesday. The dealer, very friendly fellow in NC, had a few of them. He offered to sell me 2 with consecutive serial numbers so I jumped on it! I now have 2! One to shoot, one to put in the safe.
The Series III is a pretty plain looking pistol, but it's just like the one that my grandpa carried as a MP in Paris during WWI.
