I recently attended a handgun safety class as required prior to getting a concealed weapons permit. The instructor said that his father introduced him to gun safety at the age of eight. My father did the same when he gave me my first 22 rifle when I was six. I was never allowed to have a toy gun or even point a stick a someone and go BANG when I was a kid; I was taught that guns are real and that they can do real damage if handled irresponsibility. My wife and I recently moved to Portland from the Oregon Coast and we are looking for some good outdoor shooting locations where we can safely target shoot small caliber handguns, rifles, and shotguns for skeet. We have never used an indoor shooting range, but would consider that an option if there is one in the NE Portland area. Are there any recommendations?
