Oregon HB2251 Has a Trojan In It!!!

While we have our panties all in a twist about SB501, Kate has put forth what she really wants to get through. An excerpt from the wording of 2251: . "Creates crime of endangering a minor by allowing access to a firearm."

This could imply that it would be illegal to teach your kids, or grandkids how to shoot. It would be open to 'selective enforcement', and provide need for more lawyers. This may not be the intent, but it could certainly be open to interpretation by nefarious interests.

I like the phrase "creates crime". That seems to be the ultimate purpose of the gun grabbers. Just Sayin'. :s0160:

HB2251 2019 Regular Session - Oregon Legislative Information System

You can follow the link, click on the appropriate committee and submit your 'thoughts' as an exhibit. As well as write, call, or email the legislators directly.
there also seems to be a glaring "mistake?" in it, unless the wording has changed from the introduction.
(B) Any of the following
semiautomatic centerfire rifles:
then goes on to itemize the affected firearms, forward to section 3(a) part B Line 25,
it lists "Remington Tactical Rifle Model 7615".
That firearm IS NOT a semi-automatic, it is a pump operated rifle and is no longer made as far as I know.
From Remington:
Model 7615™ Pump Action Carbine
Model 7615 Tactical Rifle – No stranger to tactical police units, this fast-handling carbine rifle is well-suited as a work tool on the ranch or as a recreational target gun alternative to the AR-15. Similar in design to the rugged and reliable Model 870 pump action shotgun, the Model 7615 can deliver ultra-fast follow-up shots as the shooter instantly chambers another round from the 10-round detachable magazine box. This tactical version has the durable Model 7600 black synthetic fore-end and Knoxx SpecOps NRS™ (No Recoil Suppression) stock with convenient adjustable length of pull feature for proper fit (adjusts from 11 1/4 to 15 1/2-inch LOP). Fore-end cap swivel stud and rear swivel stud are provided for attachment of sling. The compact 16 1/2-inch carbon steel barrel has standard rifle sights and more durable Parkerized finish for improved corrosion and scratch-resistance. Chambered in the widely-accepted .223 Rem, the Model 7615 will accept standard M16/AR15-style box magazines. Suggested retail price: $932

Is this a mistake or slipped as a precedent to redefine semi-automatics and include pump actions with semi-automatics and codify it into law? Not really relevant to HB 2251 but the first assault weapon ban signed by papa Bush redefined assault weapons from military firearms with full automatic or burst automatic fire to just semi-automatic firearms with the certain "evil" features.
HB 2251 Section C also goes on to say:
C) A copy or
duplicate of a firearm described in paragraph (a)(A) or (B) of this sub-
section with the same capability as the copied or duplicated firearm;
And a quick reading of the bill does not seem to include a "does not apply to clause" for pump action firearms with the exception of .22 or fixed magazine holding 10 or less cartridges.
I 'm not a lawyer, just saying
