This is the bill to allow people with a non-felony marijuana conviction to obtain a CHL.
Scheduled to be heard on Feb 5 at 1 pm HR 343.
Last years gun bills mostly had emergency declarations upon passage, immediate enforcement. This bill and SB 1551 state 'apply... on or after the effective date of this 2014 Act'. My question is when is the effective date? Is it vague wording for 'we'll decide that when it passes' or is there a standardized date that this phrasing points to?
SB 1551 page 7, Section 9, lines 22-23
HB 4068 page 9, Section 3, lines 20-22
SB 700 from 2013 page 7, Sections 9 and 10, lines 20-24
That was just the latest legislative notice received today.
I think this should pass. I've never in my life smoked anything, but it shouldn't be illegal. We let people own alcohol and guns, why not this?
