House Substitute Bill 1068 is passed out of with a Do-Pass recommendation. High Cap magazines, sale, manufacture, transfer and distribution by any in Washington State. It's delaying tactic to break up a unified firearms community. They are hoping to peel off the handgun centric folks, since some of them will feel "safe". In 1 or 2 legislative sessions or a single ballot initiative they will "re-address" it, exactly like New Jersey did. This is a loss. A loss for us all.

Did you not notice a couple things from the hearing (not just limited to magazines)?:

1. There were a SEVERAL more pro 2A organizations represented, not the least of which was the WSPRA...Washington State Pistol & Rifle Association (WA.'s NRA branch) and young shooters. Folks are being pulled off the fence and into ACTION. If they're there about one issue, they'll be learning about the others. Combine that with the sheriff's coming out in opposition to 1639...

2. Our side presented far better than the last couple of hearings IMHO...our panels spoke clearly and were much better organized. Youth shooters, talking about competitive shooting/the Olympics...even several of the representatives on the committee presented strongly for us. Our side wasn't nearly as on its heels as before and it wasn't just 20 seconds of 'discussion'...OK, let's vote... 4 yeah, 3 no...OK it passes.

Watch that crack they're trying to innocuously put in preemption...that's just laying the foundation to build upon.

Keep this momentum going, building...there's lots of work to be done...share, call, email, repeat!!

Washington State Legislature How a Bill Becomes a Law

needs to go through that whole legal process before it can become law. Let's home we can shoot it down before it makes it to the end of the legal process to become law.

Look at bump stocks or look at typical Fudd silence (or even enthusiasm) when all they attack are ARs or 'high-cap mags'. Fudd's only need 6 rounds in their revolver and a 20 round box for their 3 round fixed-magazine bolt-gun... and they are covered.

You are whistling past the graveyard. The momentum needs to be towards stocking up on magazines and ammunition, not speaking to those who will not hear. The drumbeats are getting closer and closer. Tyranny is on the march. It won't be stopped by words, or by sheriffs; it never has and never will. The end game of the anti-gunners is the elimination of ALL of your rights, starting with the Second Amendment. They want to silence you and grind you into the ground, never to be heard from again. 'Soap box, ballot box, cartridge box' - Abraham Lincoln. That is where we are now, period, end of story.

So, despite things like the momentum building, easy links being provided to contact legislators/committee members, specific pro-2A legislators being identified for contact (who will hopefully hear), sheriff's & DA's coming out against 1639, more 2A groups getting involved, workshops occurring, a particularly bad bill just being defeated in our neighboring state to the south, etc...your 'solution' is to say 'Screw that...I'm taking care of myself.'
