Hey, had a fun day at the Redmond, OR, parade and the chili feed at the VFW Post after.

The U.S. Navy submariners were the Grand Marshals of the 2022 Veterans Day Parade in Roseburg.

I didn't take pictures but we had the Umpqua Base with their Mk14 Torpedo Float and the Blueback Base with the WW II Diesel boat float.

It was a good day.

'Lest we forget...'

On July 1st 1916,The Grimsby Chums Battalion went over the top as part of the first wave of the Battle of the Somme.

These maps show the East Marsh area of the Town of Grimsby where many of the Chums came from.

There's a poppy on each house that lost a soldier killed in WW1 - some houses have more than one poppy and one street (Castle Street)has 23 Poppies.

On Veterans Day 2022, the National Park Service will unveil a lifetime pass providing free entrance to national parks for Veterans and their families.

Sorry for the misunderstanding. I meant you experienced many of the dangers that the soldiers did. I never made it to AFG but had all my fun in Iraq.
