You're correct . . . Now she is OLD, DUMB, And PRIVILEGED.
She is trying to cast herself as a VICTIM. She IS a victim . . . of herself!!

There was absolutely no reason to be in Vietnam , of what vital interest to this country of ours did it serve? Protect lady Bird Johnsons interests? You guys are condemning Hanoi Jane - what about the powers that be that decided that this was a good thing for the US to get involved in? Though I personally don't give a crap for Hanoi Jane, she was young, dumb and privileged. I think the feelings should be directed at other targets, or is it wrong to condemn our leaders for the pain and suffering caused by their actions / decisions.

Ya I guess we were stupid to stand up to the commie bully in the schoolyard, should have let them keep going and take over as much as they wanted:D

It wasn't our land and our country, the domino theory doesn't work and never did. When will we learn that we are not the earths policemen. Please substantiate why and what we actually accomplished by going to war in Vietnam other than spending a lot of money and killing a lot of people. There are a lot conflicts we have not got involved in - what made Vietnam special?

Great topic for another thread.

However, this thread's topic is Jane back then and now.

Sounds just like what Jane would say:D

It is not the point that people didn't agree with the war. I can understand that but support the troops.
They are doing what they are told. She did neither and helped and supported the enemy.
We had pows at that time and she did nothing. She tuned he back on them.
Why didn't she just protest the government?
She was an up and coming star at the time and was trying to make a statement. The way things were going in the late 60s and 70s she wanted people to think she would be someone to watch and someone to look up to.
She failed. To little to late. I will always think she is a POS.

I am sorry, I KNOW she arranged for the murder of my superior officers. This makes her a traitor. She engaged in seditious acts against our nation and is an facilitator to said murder.

For this, she cannot and will not, be forgiven.

I am not sorry.

Yes, I do know what we were doing over there. I was busy maintaining aircraft that was training Electronic Warfare Aircraft Officers (VAQ 129) during the waning days of the war.

I know damned good and well what was taking place "in country".

Thank you.

In the early to mid 60s, the Soviets had warheads, but their mid-long range missile accuracy sucked. It was imperative to stop the greater threat of a communist/Soviet presence in that part of the world, to prevent them being able to reach all corners of the world with their limited missile systems.

The vets you know may question the real reason(s) we were there at this point in their lives Mr Ruby, but you can betchurass they knew then. The South Vietnamese didn't want to be exterminated. The biggest reason they have questions now, is because of all the propaganda from leftists they've had to endure for 40+ years.

Don't play political games with me here. Your beloved democrats were at the core of the profit taking from the Vietnam conflict, with LBJ's main man Robert McNamara directing the flow of funds, and LBJ's strategic bungling wasting lives. Including my brother's.
It was bad enough we were there under some of those circumstances in the first place. The B^tch Fonda made it all the worse.

Our involvement began during the final days of the Korean Conflict. We had military "advisors" supporting the French Colonists up to and during the NVA/Viet Minh attack on the French Military post named Dien Bien Phu. on April 7th, through April 15th, 1954. Six high-ranking CIA and Army personnel were killed during that week-long battle. We responded by sending military support and advisory personnel to the South Vietnamese Republic Army. From then on, our involvement to prevent the invasion/takeover of South Vietnam by the North Vietnamese Army, Viet Minh and Viet Cong (a rag-tag bunch of NVA guerillas). In the beginning, these were being funded/supplied by the Soviet Union, and later by the People's Republic of China.

People will never mention it, but this, I know, is true:
In 1985, four North Vietnamese Army Generals came forward and stated that if we had remained "in country" and kept fighting for 30 more days, that they would have unconditionally surrendered to the United States.

Yes, I knew what we were doing and why we were there.

I will always support the troops but don't expect me to excuse the reasoning for an ignorant war that our leadership told us was a good thing which it wasn't. If I had been old enough I would have gone myself if drafted. I was born in 62 so to indicate I supported LBJ is plain ignorance
I would personally like to see Fonda face charges for her actions but we know that will never happe

I am really getting tired of the US getting into conflicts that we have no business being involved with.

As a kid I knew of several people that never made it home
It did not make.sense to me then and still doesn't today.
This ignorant war cost a lot for no gain.

You were just that... a kid. You were spoon fed the Leftist tripe that both the American Communist Party and the Socialist dogma (through the MSM). I can't fault you for believing it, many did. If you really investigate and "do your homework" you'll discover that the American Democrat (Socialist) Party, was complicit with the North Vietnamese (Communist) Government along with the Soviet Union and the People's Republic of China.

Congress was afraid of some of the people on the Left. Believe me, it was a monumental cluster ****. The American Armed Forces won 95% of the battles in which they engaged. We did our jobs! Congress screwed it up. Leftist political forces lied and fooled people for 21 years, thus more than sixty thousand American lives were sacrificed.

The statement goes " all gave some and some gave all" I will always owe a debt to those that did what they thought was right. But you have to ask yourself is the world a better place because we fought the "police action "called Vietnam"? I don't know that answer but I sure have thought about it. It's like water that has gone under a bridge, it's gone. Maybe the real question would it be worth fighting again

This thread is about that filthy, murderer Jane Fonda. She facilitated the murder of American Air Force pilots.

To this day, she is my sworn enemy, by my oath to defend my fellow servicemen/women regardless of rank/service. I will not forgive, nor will I forget.

She is nothing more than a criminal.
