I've been bumping up my .454 full power for a little while now using H110 and totally overlooking Lil Gun.
Looking at the Hodgdon reloading data, for 240 gr bullets I see starting loads almost identical in pressure but max loads have a huge difference, 10K PSI in pressure for almost no difference in velocity. Same goes for 300 gr loads.
I like H110 for being easy to measure. But it looks I could almost go max on Lil Gun and have the same pressure as min for H110. At least for 300gr.

Anyone tried both these powders and care to elaborate: measuring, shooting,....

Also, looks like 296 = H110 or?

Skål!

Yes, 296 is H110.

I have tried some .44 Mag loads in both H110 and LilGun. I prefer the latter for lower pressure IIRC and it doesn't leave a lot of unburned powder grains in the barrel like H110 does (unburned powder grains can degrade the finish in the barrel - at least it's been seen in .22LR barrels). I'd have to check my loads to be sure but I always end up liking LilGun better when I compare.
