If you're comfortable with everything else, I thought the bobtail was an easy job. The only nerve-wracking part is drilling the new MSH hole, and if you have the jig it's just a matter of locking it all up in a drill press. For the frame cutting you just use your bobtail mainspring housing as your jig. Cut away the excess and blend the frame to the new MSH.

This was a Caspian seconds frame (Foster) that I built up to use exclusively with my Marvel precision upper.

Southridge Arms would be a great place to send in your 1911, don't forget about your finish.

go to the frequently asked questions on Brown's website and you find information on what they charge to do it, it is pretty reasonable and you're getting it done by the designers.

Old thread but was bumped anyways soooo....
DO it yourself! It really is very easy, the hardest/scariest part by far was drilling the new hole!!
