How do you know he is a dirty criminal? And I'll tell you, unless Obama wants to increase the losses the Dems are already seeing, he is gonna say the same thing to new gun laws he always has: "I like the idea, but not politcally tenable." Gosh, people are already seeing 1994 all over again, and no Dem wants to make that more likely. But the Assault Weapons Ban led to to the Gingrich revolution. Only a crummy pol would pull another AWB or the like, because it is a losing move.

And the Mexican President gets the privilege by being a head of state. Access, however, does not always mean influence.
