Sames? : Many similar. Color, configurations, controls, and chambering.
  • Color : Utilitarian and I don't like the smell of Krylon.
  • Configurations & Controls : My own limitations. Familiarity, consistency, and competence in a designs.
  • Chambering : Personal economic reasons and ammunition availability.
Why? : Because you never know when you might need ballast while standing in the middle of a Tippecanoe.

Curious what guns people decided to have multiple copies of and what reasoning behind it. Just love that model? Collect specific gun? Other?

For me with a particular shotgun I bought 3 copies of due to value. Outshined any I had shot previously (hunted a lot as a youth) and price was so low couldn't pass them up.
I like the WW2 guns myself and have several Mausers , and Grands I just enjoy them and shoot them as often as I can

Looking to get a duplicate Arex zero in nickel finish. Plz let me know if you see one anywhere. Thx!

In the late 90s worked for HK International Training Division as an adjunct instructor so took advantage of employee discount on handguns: P7M8, P9S, USP 45C, USP 45Tactical, USP 40F, and traded a USP 40C LEM for a Iron Brigade Armory MEUSOC. My full time job was as a CA LEO in SF Bay Area CA so was unable to get approval for personal ownership of a Class III firearm but on my SWAT team I was issued a MP5A3 and a HK53A3. When I put in my retirement papers CA DOJ sent me a letter that said I could no longer own in CA my personal ARs and a Benelli M3 registered through my PD so I relocated to OR and got a suppressor for my 45Tac.

Like you I have multiple 870 shotguns. All in different configurations and used for different purposes.

I would love to get another 1 or 2 of my clay shooting shotgun but they are somewhat rare and when I see a good deal on one it is generally a long distance from me unfortunately.

I still have my original Ruger Standard (Mark 1) and did buy a Mk3 SS Hunter that I upgraded for cheap and fun shooting.

Other then that, there are so many that I would like to have that I do not own any exact duplicates.

I would like an M9 to be the dark vs light of my 92fs Inox for some reason…

Glock 19s....with the daggers, SAR...Reason would be price and part availability.

Two model 94's in 30-30, one bought new in '60's, the other later inherited. Blackhawks in .30 Cal Carbine, 327 Fed Mag, 357 Mag. Many AR-15's, 10's. Three Taurus G2C's, 2 in .40 S&W one has a Green Fiber Optic front sight

I have three uppers chambered in 20 practical. Two of the three are close to identical and one is shorter. The two heavy barrels are rotated out as they get hot when shooting squeaks in great numbers in the fields. The third is a walking around upper than can be shot standing if needed. The heavy barreled guns are 16 pounds each....not walking around guns. Each upper has its own loads developed just for that barrel.

I have two 10/22's, and two 17 hmr's that all started out in the fields and were rotated when hot as well.

I also have duplicates and quadruplets of revolvers as well......because I like them!

I have two Beretta 92 platform pistols. One is an M9 A3 with night sights and threaded barrel. The other is a two tone 92FS. One is primary and the other is spare most of the time. I can't take the A3 to Washington though, so I have one to take when I visit my son.

I also have two 1911's. The first is a Colt Custom Shop that was a gift from my son. 5 inch with target adjustable sights. The other is a Kimber Exlipse Pro. 4 inch barrel with night sights. Bought for EDC. It was 1/3 the price of the Colt, which is too valuable to risk damaging.

1 1918 vintage Colt 1911, 1 1943 vintage Remington Rand 1911A1 and 1 Remington 1991R1, I think that's the model.

2 for the historical value.
