I had an extended conversation with a psychiatrist about gender confusion, the preaching (and enforcement) of "tolerance" by school systems, and the group-think that consumes people in that mindset.
It's alarming, and I feel deep sadness for the kids caught up in gender confusion. The ones I know of my kids' acquaintances are certainly disturbed and deeply rejected by their families.
His summation of the problem: the convergence of social media pressure, parental dysfunction (zombified by their phones), lack of role models and the hyper focus on gender has amplified traditional teen angst and created a panoply of psychoses that the psychological health community has no developed diagnostic guidelines or treatment in place.
